Shine On You Crazy Diamond

Several years ago I set out on a simple yet important task— find the best growler in the world. I purchased a few run-of-the-mill glass growlers from various breweries, but they never really held the carb. Alas, my search for a go-to growler continued.

From Richmond with Love

So I took my search to the internet and I stumbled upon Shine Craft Vessels.

Shine offers these awesome steel growlers in a whole rainbow of color choices and I couldn’t help but fall in love as soon as I saw the 64 oz. in maroon (thanks and Gig’em). The industrial design of the vessel is also top notch. The slender neck allows for easing control while pouring— much easier than my Yeti growler in fact. The current generation lid with handle also makes traveling with the container a breeze.

I filled my new growler for the first time and immediately submitted another order to get one for my friend’s birthday. That’s when I discovered that they also have an outstanding customer service team.  They rushed the shipment and it arrived just in time for the party. I even had enough time to grab my buddy a traveler on the way out of town.

Can’t stop, won’t stop

A few weeks ago they were running a special for previous customers to get custom growlers and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to have a CBHF growler to show off. I shouldn’t be surprised, but the logo work turned out better than I expected. The etching is quite precise and even captured very tiny details like the offset shadow in the text below the grill in my logo.

All said, between gifts for others and gifts for myself I’ve probably ordered a half dozen growlers from Shine. And if they keep bringing it like they have I have no plan on stopping at 6.

If you love a beer drinker in your life, get him a Shine.

P.S. A common side effect of these fine pieces of craftsmanship is a conversation with the person filling your growler or other bar patrons.

Santé.
